Bahamas Vacation: Day 1 // South Beach Florida

We have been wanting to go on a cruise for quite some time. We originally thought about going the summer after I graduated but ended up not getting around to doing it. Then we planned on going the following summer. But that was the summer I was like 7 months pregnant, Steve graduated from BYU, we bought a new home and were moving to Denver. So we didn't get around to it that summer either.  We were just a little busy.

We decided to go on a cruise to the Bahamas February 2017. We thought February would be the perfect time to go because it would be chilly and cold in Colorado and nice and warm in the Bahamas.

From everything we read when we researched times to go on cruises, February always came up as a great month to go. We also found pretty decent ticket prices for the end of February as well.

// SUNDAY //

We woke up early Sunday morning to leave for the airport. We wanted to get to Florida early just in case any unforeseen circumstances happened. We didn't want to be rushed since we didn't know what we were doing and have never been on a cruise before. We flew to Atlanta, Georgia and caught a connecting flight to Miami, Florida.

I have never been to Florida so I was glad that we had most of the day to explore as well as the next morning too. The first thing we did was check into our The Franklin hotel. It was located just a block from South Beach. It was a cute little hotel.

After checking into our hotel, we decided to head down to South Beach. The wind was blowing and it was definitely chilly even thought it was 79 degrees. I was the only person on the beach in long pants and a long sleeve shirt haha! It was so beautiful. The clouds and the sunset that night made it so gorgeous!
