Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

If you like chocolate kisses and peanut butter cookies this recipe is for you!

You guys!!! These Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies have been my favorite for YEARS! I started making these right after Steve and I got married. That will be 6 years this December.

I love the taste of peanut butter and the large chocolate kiss that melts in your mouth while you eat it. As you know from my Chewy Chocolate Chunk Cookies Recipe I love soft cookies! These cookies stay soft days after they are made... if they are not eaten before then.

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake 8-10 minutes.
  2. 1/2 cup margarine
  3. 1/2 cup peanut butter (heaping)
  4. 1/2 cup granulated sugar (heaping)
  5. 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  6. 1 egg
  7. 2 Tablespoons milk
  8. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  9. 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  10. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  11. 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  12. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Mix margarine, peanut butter, brown sugar, egg, milk and vanilla into one bowl.
  • Mix granulated sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into another bowl. Then add to the "liquid" bowl.
  • Roll dough to the size of cookie you want. Then roll peanut butter ball into a plate of sugar until the whole ball is covered. Place on cookie sheet about 1 1/2 - 2 inches apart.
  • Cook for 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees.
YUMMY!!

Averi Turns One

I just can't believe that my baby is a one year old. It seems like just yesterday we brought her home from the hospital. She was so tiny that she didn't even stretch across my waist when I held her. She would just let us hold her and cuddle her. She just looked around and slept. She looked so peaceful and perfect when she slept.

Now I have a big one year old. When I hold her she stretches across my body and then some. She doesn't want to be held ever! She wants down to explore on her own. Cuddles? What's that? Averi doesn't cuddle anymore. She runs around and is into anything she can get ahold of. She still looks so peaceful and perfect when she sleeps. Now people say she looks just like Steve. She does have a lot of his physical traits as well as his corky traits too.

At one year old...
Averi weighs 23.2 pounds - 90%
She is 31 inches tall - 97%
She has 8 teeth. 4 on top 4 on bottom.
She loves clapping.
She loves pointing at airplanes.
She loves dancing.
She loves playing with balloons.
She loves going to swimming pools and playing in the bath.
She loves food especially ravioli, yogurt, pancakes and cookies.
She wears 12-18 clothing most of the time.
Averi loves pulling wet clothes out of the washer to help me.
She hates when I wash dishes.
She loves walking around all by herself.
Daddy thought he was hilarious! ;) Baby thought so too.

It was so fun planning Averi's first birthday! I loved making her birthday tutu and onesie. As well as all of her decorations.

She loved having all the attention from friends and family. She loved showing off all of her talents like dancing, pointing at airplanes, walking around, making messes, drinking from her sippy cup and the list goes on and on. She is so independent and curious about things going on around her. She wants to know what everybody is doing and how they are doing it.

She loves when grandpa makes faces at her. She gets the biggest smiles and loves teasing him.
She tries to out run grandma and all her hugs and kisses.
She loves that Uncle Derek lets her play with his old cell phone. She will climb right up on him and cuddle in just so she can play with it.
She loved smiling and getting her way with all the family that were here. Especially grandma, grandpa and uncle Derek.
We started off the party with dinner and pictures. Averi was so good for all the pictures that I wanted to take. She just stood there as cute as could be and did her own thing. She loved playing with the balloons and slapping at them as the wind blew them around.

After we took some family pictures it was time for Averi's smash cake. We got her smash cake from King Soopers. If you order a quarter sheet cake for $17.99 then you get the smash cake for free. Or if you just want the smash cake it is $6.99. So either way it was worth it for me to buy the cake instead of trying to make her own smash cake and FAILING miserably.

Averi was super excited when Steve brought out the cake and showed it to her. She wanted to see what he was holding so bad. We couldn't wait for her to smash her cake and have the piggiest face ever.

But...
She wanted nothing to do with the cake and didn't really like that her hands were dirty. We totally did not expect this reaction from her since she always grabs and eats any food we put in front of her. She had more cake and frosting on her bum and foot than she did in her tummy and face.

After our attempt at a smash cake we went inside to open presents. She LOVED opening presents and LOVED every single one she got... that's why it took us three days to open them all. She would open it and then play with it, or the tissue paper, or the bows. We just let her play cause we weren't in a big hurry to have everything opened that night.
Averi got some wonderful gifts!
* She got some adorable shoes
*Some darling clothes
*Some wonderful books
*Some dancing and singing toys
*Some balls and a ball tent (kind of like McDonalds ball pit)
*Some crayons and markers
